How much will the repair cost?
It depends on what failed. Start-up components like capacitors, contactors, igniters and flame sensors sit at the low end. Refrigerant work, blower motors and control boards run higher. You’ll get the exact number after the diagnostic and before we touch anything, and the diagnostic is free either way.
What warranty do I get?
Every repair carries a one-year warranty on our labor. Replacement parts are covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, which varies by part and brand. You get it in writing before we leave, not as something we tell you at the door.
My system runs but nothing's coming out. Should I shut it off?
Yes, in most cases. A system that’s running without heating or cooling is usually burning power while something fails inside it, and letting it keep going can turn a small repair into a compressor or heat exchanger job. Switch the thermostat off, leave the breaker alone, and give us a call.
How long does it take?
Most repairs are done in one visit, usually one to three hours including the diagnostic. Jobs that need a part we don’t stock, or a permit for certain gas and electrical work, take longer, and you’ll know that before you approve anything.
Is it smarter to repair or replace?
Depends on age, the cost of the fix, and how the system has been behaving. Roughly: under ten years old with one part failed, repair it. Past fifteen with a failing compressor or heat exchanger and climbing bills, replacement usually costs less over the next five years. We’ll give you both numbers and let you make the call. We don’t push replacements.
