Heating, Cooling, and Electrical Work Built for Redwood City Homes

Daikin ductless AC indoor unit mounted near window corner San Jose CA

Redwood City is warmer and sunnier than most of the Peninsula. The hills to the west hold back much of the coastal fog, so summer afternoons here run hotter than they do a few miles north. Many local homes were built with a furnace and nothing else, and for years that was enough. Today cooling is the main reason people call us, and a heat pump covers both seasons with one system.

The older neighborhoods near downtown, such as Mount Carmel and Edgewood Park, are full of homes from the 1920s through the 1940s. They have small crawl spaces, short duct runs, and floor plans that were never meant to carry cooled air to every room. Farther out, Woodside Plaza and Farm Hill are mostly ranch homes from the 1950s. Those do have ducts, but the ducts were sized for a gas furnace decades ago. We test them before we quote anything. If they can move enough air for the new system, they stay. If they cannot, we show you the numbers and design a layout that can.

Redwood Shores is a different kind of job. Much of it is townhomes and condos, where the outdoor unit has few possible locations and shared walls make sound a real concern. On the hillside streets west of Alameda de las Pulgas, the questions are slope, access, and sun exposure. All of that is settled at the estimate, along with the wiring, since our electricians and HVAC installers work as one crew. A new electrical panel is rarely part of a heat pump project, and we tell you up front if yours is the exception.

Why Homeowners Choose Ozone Service

Rebates & Incentives for Bay Area Homeowners

Ozone Service has secured over $500,000 in rebates in the past 6 months. We help Bay Area homeowners reduce the cost of upgrading to energy-efficient heating and cooling systems. Depending on your location, utility provider, and equipment selected, you may qualify for valuable rebates and financing programs. We handle the documentation, and most contractors don't.

Free Estimates & Free Diagnostics

No trip fee. No diagnostic charge. We assess the full system, identify the problem, and hand you a written scope and price before any work begins. After fixing a compressor for one of our clients, Tim checked the rest of the system at no extra charge to rule out downstream issues. That's not exceptional, that's how we work.

EPA 608 Certified & BBB Accredited

Handling refrigerant the right way matters. Our EPA 608 certified technicians follow strict standards for refrigerant recovery, leak prevention, and system charging, helping protect the environment while keeping your HVAC system efficient and reliable. BBB Accreditation means there's a paper trail and accountability if anything falls short.

HVAC + Electrical Under One Roof

Heat pump installations require both HVAC and electrical work. Because Ozone Service is licensed in both trades, we provide complete in-house service from start to finish, with no need to coordinate multiple contractors. From equipment installation and wiring to permits and final testing, everything is handled under one roof for a smoother, faster project.

Written Warranty on Every Job

HVAC installation labor is covered for 3 years and can extend up to 12 years with annual maintenance. Electrical work carries a 1-year labor warranty, and equipment is covered by its manufacturer. One team, one contract, everything in writing.

24/7 Emergency HVAC & Electrical Service

AC failed? Furnace out on a cold weekend? Electrical issue that can’t wait? Our team takes calls 24/7 with same-day service in most cases. Same technicians, same quality, any time of day.

Rebates and Incentives for Redwood City Homeowners

Switching from gas to an efficient electric system in Redwood City can qualify for rebates, and more than one program can apply to the same project. A heat pump and a heat pump water heater are usually treated as separate upgrades, each with its own rebate, which is a good reason to plan them together.

Redwood City is served by PG&E and by WestLight Energy, the community energy provider for San Mateo County. You may still know it as Peninsula Clean Energy, the name it used until mid-2026. Its local offers can be combined with the larger statewide program available at the time.

Program budgets are limited and the rules change during the year. Our manager will tell you what is open right now, by phone or at the estimate. After that we install to the program requirements and file the paperwork for you.

Called OZONE late Friday night and had Andrew out by 8am Saturday. He diagnosed the failed starting component quickly, had the part on the truck, and had the system running and verified cold before he left. On time, no upselling on a old unit, one-year warranty on the repair. Exactly what you want from a service call. Highly recommend.

Konstantine and Paul (and one other) were excellent. Price as the best among 5 quotes. Professional. Replaced our 3.5 ton carrier gas+AC with a daikin 3.5 ton heat pump in 2 days (all to code with permits, inspectors pending).

Frequently Asked Questions

Will a heat pump raise my electric bill?

Yes, your electric bill will go up, because the heat pump takes over the work your gas furnace used to do. Your gas bill drops at the same time. How the two balance out depends on your home, your rates, and how well the system is sized, so we go through the expected running costs with you during the estimate.

No, it does not. A heat pump needs electricity to run. A modern gas furnace will not run in an outage either, since its blower and controls also need power. If outages are a concern in your part of the city, tell us at the estimate so the electrical plan accounts for it.

Yes, we do. A ductless mini-split is often the simplest way to heat and cool a new room or a backyard unit, because it works independently and leaves the main system untouched. We size it for that space alone and run a dedicated circuit for it.

Yes, in many homes you can. A cooling coil goes on top of the furnace and an outdoor unit is connected to it, so the cool air travels through the ducts you already have. It works when the furnace blower and the ducts can move enough air, and we check both during the estimate. If the furnace is near the end of its life, replacing both with one new system usually makes more sense, and we will show you the two options side by side.
